dc.description | Neisseria gonorrhoeae susceptibility to -lactamics antibiotic, tetraciclines, and quinolones was studied in strains isolated from patients with gonococcic cervicitis and/or urethritis that were to consultation of Infections of Sexual Transmission of The Ambulatory Urban type II, in a neighborhood of Ciudad Bolívar from July to August - 2003. The samples were seeded in Agar Blood, GC Agar Base and 1% defined growth supplement, Agar Thayer Martin; making simultaneously a Gram stain. Suspicious colonies were identified by means of oxidase test and sugar degradation in CTA medium. The production of -lactamases was investigated of by means of the acidimetric method. Susceptibility tests were made in GC Agar Base and 1% defined growth supplement. Penicilline, ceftriaxone, tetracicline, and Ciprofloxacin were used. 50 strains were isolated of Neisseria gonorrhoeae that represented 43.85% of patients with gonococci infections (Urethritis and/or cervicitis) of which 82% belonged to masculine sex. There was no evidence of production of ß-lactamases in the studied strains. As far as the susceptibility to the antimicrobial drugs it was found 46% strains resistant to penicillin, 42% to tetraciclines. Ceftriaxone and ciprofloxacin showed a good activity against N. gonorrhoeae with 98 and 92% of sensitivity, respectively. | en-US |
dc.description | Se estudió la susceptibilidad de Neisseria gonorrhoeae a los antibióticos -lactámicos, tetraciclinas y quinolonas, en cepas aisladas de pacientes con cervicitis y/o uretritis gonocóccicas que asitieron a la consulta de Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual del Ambulatorio Urbano tipo II, El Perú en Ciudad Bolívar, Julio-Agosto del 2003. Las muestras fueron inoculadas en Agar Sangre, Agar Base GC con suplemento nutricional al 1% y Agar Thayer Martin; realizando simultáneamente coloración de Gram. Las colonias sospechosas fueron identificadas mediante el test de oxidasa, y la degradación de azúcares en medio CTA. Se investigó la producción de β- lactamasa mediante el método acidimétrico. Las pruebas de susceptibilidad se hicieron en Agar Base GC con suplemento nutricional al 1% para los siguientes antimicrobianos: penicilina, ceftriaxona, tetracilina, y ciprofloxacina. Se aislaron 50 cepas de N. gonorrhoeae que representaron el 43,85% de pacientes consultantes, de las cuales 82% pertenecían a pacientes del sexo masculino. No se encontró evidencia de la producción de íŸ-lactamasas en las cepas estudiadas. En cuanto a la susceptibilidad a los antimicrobianos se encontró 46% de resistencia a penicilina, 42% a las tetraciclinas, ceftriaxona y ciprofloxacina mostraron buena actividad contra gonococo con 98 y 92% de sensibilidad respectivamente. | es-ES |
