| dc.description | El presente artículotiene como objetivo explorar el dominio de la cultura visual en la vida diaria del estudiante y cómo la escuela parece obviarla ensus prácticas; asimismo, se examina la capacidad interpretativa de los niñosante la imagen y las apreciaciones de estos con respecto a las actividades deescritura experimentadas en su vida escolar. El diagnóstico se realizó en ungrupo de veintiún niños de 5.º grado pertenecientes a una escuela públicasituada en el casco urbano de la ciudad de San Cristóbal (estado Táchira, Venezuela). Este trabajo sirve como punto de partida para enlazar dos aspectoscomunicativos medulares para el estudiante de hoy: la expresión escritay la presencia de la cultura visual.Image and writing: two communicative aspects absent in the scholar cultureAbstractThe aim of this paper is to explore the domain of the visual culture in thestudent everyday life and how the school seems to omit it in its practices;also, the interpretative skill of the children in front of the image and theirappreciations with respect to the writing activities made in their scholar lifeare examined. The diagnostic was done in a group of twenty one 5th gradechildren of a public school located in the urban sector of the San CristobalCity (Tachira State, Venezuela).
