| dc.description | The Benjamim Maranhão Botanical Garden/ Buraquinho (“Little Hole”) Forest - located in João Pessoa, Paraíba State - is a very special protected area, because exits in his perimeter an Atlantic Forest remains. This space also represents an important attraction in the consolidation process of the tourist activities in the city. In this context, this research discusses the internal and external actions developed by the Botanical Garden Administration, focusing the theme of the sustainable tourism planning as a basis in the administration of natural areas, with a large applicability and as an indispensable condition to the natural areas managers, considering they are part of a more complex system and its administration cannot be reduced to the limits of the park. The role of tourism in this scene would not to be underestimated, as some sectors of the society does actually, reducing this activity only to functional aspects, simplifying the problem of its condition and managing. | en-US |
| dc.description | O Jardim Botânico Benjamim Maranhão/ Mata do Buraquinho/PB é uma área protegida singular por comportar resquícios de Mata Atlântica em seus limites e por representar um importante atrativo em vias de consolidação no mercado turístico pessoense. Neste contexto, o trabalho projeta uma discussão sobre como as bases do planejamento turístico sustentável devem ser percebidas na gestão de áreas naturais e sua aplicabilidade através da análise das ações internas e externas desenvolvidas pelo Jardim Botânico. Diante de tal análise, conclui-se que entender as bases que sustentam a operacionalização e o planejamento da atividade turística é condição imprescindível aos gestores de áreas naturais, primeiro por que estes ambientes fazem parte de um sistema mais complexo e sua gestão não pode se resumir aos limites da área natural, e segundo, para que não se subestime o papel do turismo na sociedade atual, entendido por muitos, apenas em seus aspectos funcionais que tendem a reduzir e simplificar sua operacionalização e condição. | pt-BR |
