dc.descriptionThe new Dominican poetry began to take shape after Trujillo's death, or at least in the immediate following period, but it owes its vital impulse to the 1965 revolution. In many ways, the emerging crop of authors was a direct product, potential and emotionally resulting from the April revolution. In practice, literary activity was for a long time influenced, and almost determined, by the great war event, even though its theme was not necessarily warmongering. Reasons for the political climate extended its existence to almost the entire reign of Balaguer, including, of course, the interregnum of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD).en-US
dc.descriptionLa nueva poesía dominicana empezó a gestarse a partir de la muerte de Trujillo, o por lo menos en el período inmediatamente posterior, pero debe su impulso vital a la revolución de 1965. De muchas maneras, la emergente cosecha de autores fue un producto directo, potencial y anímicamente resultante de la revolución de abril. En la práctica la actividad literaria estuvo durante mucho tiempo influenciada, y casi determinada, por el magno acontecimiento bélico, aun cuando su temática no fuera necesariamente belicista. Razones de clima político extendieron su existencia a casi todo el reinado de Balaguer, incluyendo, desde luego el interregno del Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD).es-ES
