dc.descriptionEl objetivo del presente estudio es comprender la vivencia del hombre venezolano, que ejerce el rol de padrastro en la familia reconstituida. Se aplicó como metodología, el análisis del discurso a datos tomados de entrevistas publicadas en El Nacional (Silva, 2014) con motivo del “Día del padre”. Se encontró que los padrastros ejercen funciones parentales, valoran el papel desempeñado, evidencian la superación de prejuicios personales y sociales atinentes a la asunción de ese rol. El cambio progresivo del papel de la figura del padrastro en la familia reconstituida, muestra una redefinición que hasta ahora no se había dado a conocer en nuestro contexto social desde la perspectiva masculina. EXPERIENCES OF BEING A STEPFATHER IN THE VENEZUELAN CONTEXT: ANALYSIS OF AN ARTICLE PUBLISHED IN EL NACIONALAbstractThe objective of the study is to understand the experience of the Venezuelan man who exercises the role of stepfather in a reconstituted family. I applied as a methodology the discourse analysis to data taken from interviews published in El Nacional (Silva, 2014) on the occasion of Father Day;. It was found that stepparents exercise parental functions, value the role played, evidence the overcoming of personal and social prejudices related to the assumption of that role. The progressive change of the role of the stepfather in the reconstituted family shows a redefinition that until now had not been made known in our social context from the male perspective.es-ES
