The microdynamical motion of the ammonia molecule adsorbed on Na-X zeolite was studied by pulsed NMR between 225 and 430 K. Measuring the longitudinal and transversal relaxation times and the second moment with the solid echo method, the dynamic behaviour of the ammonia molecule could be determined: A rigid lattice like state of the NH3 molecule in the sodalitic unit was found, and a nearly free reorientational motion for the ammonia placed in the supercage.
