| dc.description | En la era post guerra fría ha habido una creciente privatización en la defensa y seguridad, funciones que antes ejercían exclusivamente los Estados, ahora son ejercidas por nuevos actores ejecutores de violencia (actores paraestatales armados y empresas militares y de seguridad privadas) en el sistema internacional, que han tenido un papel preponderante en las crecientes nuevas guerras luego de terminar el sistema bipolar, sobre todo en zonas grises que antes eran de dominio o de influencia de la URSS o de la República de Yugoslavia. Estos nuevos tipos de conflicto o nuevas guerras en la era post guerra fría, son principalmente étnicos o de identidades particulares utilizadas como bastión político para fragmentar, excluir y eliminar a una población de un territorio para lograr su control político. Estas nuevas guerras se caracterizan por la privatización de la violencia bélica por parte de actores paraestatales o privados. En consecuencia, la presente investigación tiene como objetivo general analizar el papel de las empresas militares y de seguridad privadas como ejecutores de violencia política en las relaciones internacionales post guerra fría. | |
| dc.description | There has been an increasing in the defense and security functions since the Cold War. These functions, which States used to carry on by themselves, nowadays are carried out by actors recently introduced in the international system. These actors have had an increasing role in recent wars, specially after the Cold War and in areas of influence of the USSR. The conflicts of this new era are characterized by racial and ethnic differences and they are used as a political tool to increase social fragmentation, exclusion and suppression of communities to gain power over the territory that they occupy. In these new wars violence has been privatized by actors such as organized crime and private security agencies. As a result, the aim of this paper is to analyse the role of the private and public security agencies as the main political actors of the international relations after the Cold War. | |
