dc.description.abstractObjective: The present study aims to evaluate the correlation between serum levels of complement C1q - CH50 and the degree of severity of systemic lupus erythematosus in patients with recent diagnosis, evaluated during their time of hospitalization and their follow ups with external consultation of Eduardo Rebagliati Martin National Hospital since the year 2016 to 2017. Methodology: An observational, descriptive, exploratory study correlational type. Study population were patients with a recent diagnosis of SLE during the year 2016. Having a total of 30 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the study had a precision error of 2.8% and confidence level of 95%. There were two types of analyses used: a descriptive univariate analysis and bivariate analysis, they were performed for the purpose of having a subgroup comparisons using chi square for P value <0.05. Results: 66.6% presented SLE activity according to their SLEDAI and low levels of C1Q, 46.7% of the patients presented SLE activity according to SLEDAI score and low levels of CH50, serum C1q levels are related to proteinuria levels in hospitalized patients. The Spearman correlation value = -0.796 (p = 0.000 **) was found, which was statistically significant. Conclusions: This study concludes that the consumption of serum complement C1q and ch50 correlates with SLE activity according to the SLEDAI score.
