Estudios demuestran
Tropaeolum tuberosum Ruiz & Pav “mashua” posee efecto anti-inflamatorio, actividad antimicrobiana
dc.description.abstract | Burn injuries can alter the protective and absorbent properties of the skin, leaving it vulnerable to
infections, there is also an inflammatory response. Studies show a relationship between antioxidant
effect and improvement in the healing process of burn wounds. Tropaeolum tuberosum Ruiz & Pav
"mashua" has anti-inflammatory effect, antimicrobial activity and a very high antioxidant capacity.
Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the healing effect of mashua in second degree
burns. To do this, induction of second-degree burns was performed in mice and the healing process
was evaluated at the macroscopic and microscopic level of a 1% Tropaeolum tuberosum ointment.
Beneficial effects were found in wound healing at the macroscopic and microscopic level. This effect
can be attributed to the presence of anthocyanins and phenolic compounds reported in the plant
species. | |
