de ¨conocimiento logrado¨ y 8% un nivel de ¨conocimiento destacado¨ en el post-test;
dc.description.abstract | Medicines in our society are a fundamental tool to restore homeostasis in the body, however
improper use of these can be dangerous and inconvenient for the population, since in the
long run it generates bacterial resistance, adverse reactions, complications, etc. The causes
of this incorrect use are multifactorial, for this reason this study focuses on determining the
effect of implementing an informative workshop on "Use of generic drugs" for patients at
the Florencia de Mora Hospital of EsSalud. Using a quasi-experimental method, 176 hospital
patients are subjected to a test before and after receiving an informative workshop on the use
of generic drugs, patients are insured by EsSalud, of different levels of instruction
(secondary, technical and superior), the test evaluated three dimensions: "general knowledge
of the drug", "prescription and dispensing" and "self-medication" and a scale with 4 rating
levels was used to measure the level of achievement: outstanding knowledge, knowledge
achieved, knowledge in process and low knowledge. The results show that the experimental
group (EG) has developed more knowledge about the generic drug than the control group
(CG); demonstrating that the workshop was effective in improving the level of knowledge
of the generic drug with 73% of patients reaching a level of "knowledge achieved" and 8%
a level of "outstanding knowledge" in the post-test; Furthermore, the patients who in the pre test obtained the lowest level of knowledge of the "generic drug" were those with a level of
education of up to high school (low knowledge of 30.7%), it is rescued that the patients still
show difficulty to learn what you should know about prescription and still consider that
pregnant women can self-medicate just as children can take antidiarrheals. Concluding the
informative workshop on the use of generic drugs, it has a positive effect by significantly
improving the knowledge of generic drugs in patients from the Florencia de Mora hospital
of EsSalud, Trujillo 2021, with a U value of Mann Whitney Zcal of 11,131 and with a level
of significance of 0.000, that is, p <0.05.
