dc.description.abstract | This paper describes the current situation in relation to solid waste management in the Pasaje canton, province of El Oro. A survey of the residents of the study area is carried out, to determine the status of the problem, collect data directly from the field and personally verify the inconvenience or weaknesses to consider in the project. With this information, the quality of the service provided by the Municipal GAD was quantified, inconveniences, characterization of waste and the identification of tentative alternatives to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and reduce the environmental impact derived from inefficient management. The biggest problem detected is the lack of culture and customs that are not very ecological in the community. The most common type of waste is organic waste because it is an urban area without technology or industries; In addition, around 1977.32 Ton, month of untreated waste is generated. By virtue of the background, environmental regulations, legal aspects, competencies of the municipalities and social responsibility of civil engineering, the need to improve management is evident; Therefore, the objective of the study is to propose a management plan for the transport and disposal of urban solid waste, which implies training the community and imposing municipal ordinances to reduce generation, update the vehicle fleet to optimize transport and install green areas in the landfill. | |
