dc.description.abstractThis paper describes the process for the evaluation and design of T-shaped reinforced concrete beams of the superstructure of the bridge over the Motuche River in the province of El Oro, based on the criteria and stipulations of the AASHTO – LRFD Bridge Design Specifications. For this, the dimensions and characteristics will have each element of the superstructure are established, then determine the loads that will be applied on the bridge, which come from, structural and non-structural components, road surfaces, and the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians. With the magnitudes of these loads, the bending moments and shear stresses are obtained to which the bridge will be submitted, with the demand produced by these stress resultants, a distribution of steel is established that provides the structure with the capacity to withstand such force effects. This steel reinforcement has a certain number of steel rods with their respective diameters, arranged in the beams longitudinally and transversely. With the culmination of this paper, the interior and exterior beam design is obtained in detail, with its respective distribution of steel for flexural, temperature and shear.
