dc.description.abstractPeople's quality of life is influenced by many aspects that happen in society and in Ecuador after the Constitution of 2008 creates new legal scenarios, therefore the central government obliges governments decentralized to identify needs of your environment to promote development and economic growth and social development of the population. The present work has as objective to analyze the socio-economic impact of a municipal investment in the city of Machala, in this sense, the reconstruction and regeneration of the Colón Park. The investigative structure is classified into two parts; conceptual part, which are public investment projects or municipal and its impacts at both the global and national levels, while, in the context menu, there will be a field study using the descriptive method applying techniques of observation and interviews in order to determine the socio-economic impact of this municipal investment project, resulting in a positive impact on traders; influx of tourists, increased income, improvements in the quality of life and economic growth.
