Aquaculture is a very important productive activity in the productive economic sphere of the country, consequently any analysis of its development that seeks to improve its productivity is fully justified. In this perspective, this bibliographical review article aims to describe the importance of Oxygen solution in shrimp farming ponds, information that by socializing it will provide knowledge about this productive practice, facilitating processes of quality improvement. After carrying out the review of scientific articles, scientific research works, carried out by university institutions and foundations of research in the aquaculture field, as well as academic works of great rigor, it was concluded that the oxygen solution in the water of the ponds, it is the main indicator of water quality; that a low concentration of oxygen, causes stress in the shrimp, decreasing their appetite, affecting their normal development and exposing them to various pathogenic diseases, therefore, it is essential for the aquaculturist to take care that the oxygen solution remains at its optimal levels ; Another conclusion is that the oxygen solution in water (DO) depends on the interaction of several factors, such as temperature, salinity, atmospheric pressure, phytoplankton concentrated in ponds, sediments, among others.
