In the present work, a structural evaluation plan for flexible pavements is carried out in the city of Azogues, which is based on the analysis of deflections measured in the pavements through the application of the Benkelman beam, for this the procedure indicated in the norm "Standard test procedure for Benkelman beam deflection measurements" has been followed, and for the subsequent analysis the methodologies of the AASHTO and the Asphalt Institute have been applied to determine the structural condition of the pavement, the necessary structural reinforcement and its remaining useful life. The asphalt pavement section of 16 de Abril Avenue was selected as the study area. In order to verify that the beam is functioning correctly, the collaboration of the Azuay Prefecture was requested to perform measurements in conjunction with its Benkelman beam, and through a statistical analysis (Two-Sample Paired t-Test), it was determined that the differences between the deflections of each beam are not significant in the results of the structural evaluation, so it was concluded that the Benkelman beam of the Municipality of Azogues provides reliable information. The results of the structural evaluation of each roadway revealed that the right roadway (North-South) has sufficient structural capacity to withstand the projected load repetitions for the proposed design period of 20 years and does not require structural reinforcement, while the left roadway (South-North) requires a 2-inch structural reinforcement to support the projected loads for the design period.
