Studies carried out over time indicate that in most cases the structure of a road is designed for a useful life of no less than 20 years; however, it is known that pavements provide adequate service conditions for only between 8 and 12 years due to pavement deterioration. This research work seeks to analyze and evaluate the existing deterioration models for asphalt pavements, in order to assess the parameters involved in the deterioration behavior. To analyze the different deterioration models considered in this research, MATLAB computational tool will be used, here models will be programmed and the parameters will be varied according to each type of deterioration and the results will be obtained in a graphic form. From the results obtained, it was observed that the parameters age of the pavement and the traffic are directly proportional to the beginning or progression of most of the model deteriorations. Also from the analysis of other parameters, it was found that the use of binder content above the optimal content in bituminous surfaces helps certain deteriorations in asphalt pavements to occur with less severity or in less time. From the study carried out, the importance of the analysis of the deterioration models is concluded, since it has allowed defining the most critical parameters for the types of deterioration analyzed according to their deterioration model.
