Background: Cervical pain is considered an important health problem due to its high prevalence and its personal, social and economic consequences. It is defined as an unpleasant sensation in the posterior or posterolateral area of the neck. Objective: To determine the relationship between the causes of cervicalgia, and the Index Neck Disability and the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia. José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital. 2017 Methodology: A descriptive, prospective cross-sectional study was carried out on 73 patients diagnosed with cervicalgia. A form was applied to collect personal data, the cause of the cervicalgia and the time that presents cervical pain, then two questionnaires were filled: Index Of Cervical Disability And Tampa Scale For Kinesiophobia. The results were tabulated using the statistical program SPSS vs 20 and Office Excel 2016. Results: 78.1% of patients who presented cervicalgia were female, the age range of highest frequency was between 40-64 years with a percentage of 69.9%, and 97.3% were also found for mechanical cervicalgia, according to the index of cervical disability 38.4% corresponding to moderate disability, according to the TAMPA scale for Kinesiophobia 43.8% was obtained for severe fear. Conclusion: the main cause of cervicalgia found was mechanical, with a higher prevalence in females, causing a moderate disability and severe fear of movement or activity. When relating the causes of Cervicalgia with the degree of disability and Kinesiophobia, it was found that there is no relationship between them.
