dc.description.abstractThis research work presents the construction and validation of a nutrient cycle computational model of Mazar and Amaluza reservoirs using experimental data from field monitoring. Modelling started with the cartographic representation of the reservoirs and their discretization using the software Basins. This program facilitates the following analysis processes implemented in the software Aquatox. For discretization, Mazar and Amaluza reservoirs were divided five and four stretches, respectively. On these, several parameters were studied, such as dissolved Oxygen, Chlorophyll, Ammonium, Nitrates, and Phosphorus. Finally, present and future scenarios were analyzed investigating nutrients behavior and potential eutrophication. Highlighted results include the cartographic construction of the reservoirs and nutrient cycle predictions for different modeled scenarios.
