dc.description.abstractThe current work seeks to identify the levels of depression in older adults who attend a gerontological center, and what are the levels of depression in case of their existence. This research was developed with a quantitative approach at the exploratory-descriptive level. The process of data collection consists on the application of the Geriatric Depression Scale. The sample consisted of 21 women and 11 men from the geriatric center, aged between 67 and 90 years. Results: 46.6% had moderate / severe depression, according to the sample size men showed a higher level of depression than women, schooling is an influencing factor since the majority of participants with basic / none present moderate / severe depression.
