The energy needs of today's society requires a more efficient and reliable power grid. The concept of Smart Grid was designed to achieve these goals, and one of its key strategies is Distribution Automation - DA. Advanced Distribution Automation applications includes FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration), Volt / Var Control, Optimal Reconfiguration, etc. At the national level, Empresa Eléctrica Regional CENTRO SUR C.A (CENTROSUR) is a pioneer in the deployment of technology for managing the operation of the distribution, with SCADA / DMS / OMS systems and Substation Automation systems. They have established a primary level of automation, "local automation" bay and "hand-held remote control" Power System. In this thesis, we designed and implemented a feeder automation system with advanced FLISR function applied to a specific area of the distribution network of CENTROSUR for localization and isolation of a fault, and service restoration. Thus, this work incorporates the ability to "automatic remote control" of the electricity distribution network of CENTROSUR. In addition transforms the concept of operation of the electrical power system, from manual to automatic operation.
