The objective of this research was to determine the relationship of the characteristics of preovulatory follicles, corpora lutea (CL) with the quality and quantity of the embryos in superovulated race criolla. 10 were selected criolla heifers. On day 0, implant CIDR® intravaginal application, 2 mg estradiol benzoate and progesterone 50mg intramuscular (IM); 4th Folltropin V® (FSH-p) IM applied in decreasing doses every 12 hours for 4 days; on day 6 the implant was removed, was applied twice PGF2α 25 mg IM every 12 hours; on 8 GnRH injected 0.5 mg IM, inseminated (AI) 2 times; by ultrasound measurement of preovulatory follicles was at first AI at 10 hours of starting the heat and then 10 hours of the second IA, the CL were measured 7 days post-insemination. On day 15 embryos for evaluation and classification I collect. For analysis of the variables number, diameter preovulatory follicles, CL, embryo numbers and quality, was used statistic Pearson linear correlation and Kendall Tau-b. The results were an average of 7.70 ± 0.59 preovulatory follicles with diameter of 9.5 ± 0.19 mm; 6.80 ± 0.46 CL with a diameter of 15.6 ± 0,24mm; 3.11 ± 0.80 embryos collected per heifer; concluding that there was significant relationship (p <0.05) between the diameter of the preovulatory follicle with the quality of embryos
