Prefabrication can be understood as a triggering agent in the paradigm shift of construction systems and its consequent influence on architectural typologies as a regulatory, organizing and morphological innovation element. This research clarifies the modern development of industrialized housing in the 1920s in the United States, within the Case Study House program in California, whose worldwide recognition is indisputable; and the modern Italy of the 60s that reveals the principles of modern architecture in the housing development in Trento, town of San Marino di Castrozza. The use of a qualitative methodology as a tool allows the analysis and description of technical documentation obtained through: books, magazines, publications and theses. Architectural design is the essential root for the development of the housing construction industry such as: Case Study House No. 26, and La Fontanella Residential Unit. These works acquire a new dimension over time, through the parameters provided by their planning, design, innovation and construction evolution, in order to efficiently and inexpensively solve the demand for decent housing in its various scenarios. Deepening principles of modern architecture through technical, spatial and constructive analysis, with the efficiency that an organized system and coupling of all its parts entail.
