The designs of buildings with conventional system (reinforced concrete) are the most frequently used in the city of Cuenca. The mixed structures have an entry in the local market of low to medium complexity, but at the moment no is completely massified. The design of mixed steel-concrete structures has a better performance in times of the conventional reinforced concrete construction, resulting less use of labor, which is an important factor to when programming a construction job. This paper is a bibliographic database for sizing the structural elements (beams and columns) of a mixed character, making a comparison, at the end, of the same project from an analysis of reinforced concrete structures versus mixed (concrete-steel), both at structural design, budget and schedule work.
