dc.description.abstractStress is considered such as of the most important diseases nowadays. It presents in every people´s fields. Family is not exempt for suffering from stress by diverse events; in this way many parents become to feel unrest for performing their maternal or paternal roles. A lot of researches have shown than fathers and mothers stress levels increase whenever in their families there are children with special educational needs. In these families the upbringing become a complex process by parents´ perception than their children´s learning is not according biological age and for difficulty to set rules, habits and else. This research´s objectives were: to determine parental stress levels on children´s with special educational needs fathers and mothers, to relate these stress levels with parents´ features, children´s features and family structure. To achieve this research, we used the Parenting Stress Index- Short Form (PSI-SF), this form was applied online to forty-nine fathers and mothers, ages were between twenty-five years old and fifty-three years old, it was applied in “Nulti School” “Luis Roberto Bravo School” and “Dolores J. Torres School”. Research was made with quantitative methodology, we use a descriptive, non-experimental research design. The results show than children´s with special educational needs fathers and mothers have high parental stress levels, teenagers´ with intellectual affectation mothers present the highest parental stress levels, the more affected are the single parent families and families with four to eight children. In conclusion, parental stress doesn´t associate only with children with special educational needs, it varies in accordance to family structure.
