dc.description.abstract | This research seeks to describe families in absolute poverty in the urban parish of San Sebastian in Cuenca canton, Ecuador, through their perceptions of tourism and heritage and the analysis of leisure and tourism practices. The study has a mixed approach, that is, a quantitative cross-sectional type, with probabilistic and correlational depth. First, families in absolute poverty were identified through participatory assemblies, followed by a characterization of poverty within these households. Secondly, the tourist and heritage perceptions were obtained through a hermeneutic analysis forming semantic networks using Atlas.ti 8 software. Finally, the leisure and tourism practices of households living in absolute poverty were determined through the statistical formulation of decision trees in the SPSS 24 software. It was concluded that absolute poverty limits the right to leisure, recreation, rest and paid holidays, despite the fact that this is a constitutional right in Ecuador and a human right. Therefore, this part of the population needs to be more involved in planning the tourism sector by incorporating public policy based on inclusive and social tourism. | |
