dc.description.abstractThe genus Vasconcellea is more important than the Caricacea family, with 12 wild species reported in the Ecuadorian Austro, this is considered as rootstocks for babaco (V. x heilbornii) and in order to control the susceptibility to the fungus of the genus Fusarium. The problem presented by wild species is the low percentage of germination at field level, in this study was evaluated the in vitro germination of embryos of wild Vasconcellea (V. candicans, V. stipulata and V. cundinamarcensis) to Fusarium spp. It is a completely randomized design (DCA), with 12 treatments (3 vasconcellin species x 4 doses of gibberellic acid) and 10 repetitions. In germination of embryos the species V. cundinamarcensis obtained the best result with 28.75%, taking into account a relation proportional to the evaluation of viability with 44%. The use of AG3 did not stimulate germination, on the contrary, it had an inversely proportional relation to the concentration of the phytohormone. Regarding the resistance to the pathogen, no symptomatology of the disease is observed in wild species or in the control of susceptibility (babaco) after 60 days of inoculation. Regarding the molecular analysis, the BDTG12 primer broadens a region of the genome in all the evaluated species, so it does not allow the presence of genes of resistance to the pathogen
