The article systematizes a group of elements that make it possible to defend the values contained in the Latin American ballad, as a form of mass art with diffusion between the sixties and eighties of the twentieth century, in a context defined by a frequent rejection of the academy to the study of these forms of artistic production that, paradoxically, typify cultural contexts and determine notions, behaviors and practices.
