In this article we share a cartographic ethnography about public space. The selected territory for the investigation was the park "El ejjido", due to its connotations of historical and patrimonial emblem of the city of Quito. With this initiative it was possible to articulate the theoretical knowledge and methodological skills with the political reality of urban territories. It is part of understanding as a problem the visions that reduce the analysis of politics to organizational experiences that exclude from their dynamics large conglomerates, who do not attend instances of debate on crisis and democracy, but rather go to other territories where politics appears concatenated to other connotations: contacts and routes, structured and chaotic, between citizens in search of rest and recreation. This work aimed to promote ethnographic practices in the process of training students of the undergraduate course of Applied Anthropology of the Salesian Polytechnic University of Quito -Ecuador, in academic periods between 2012 and 2015. The cartographies were executed through maps, under a systematization format based on scenarios, scenes and actors-characters, characteristic of a theatrical proposal. The expository structure of the text is based on a conceptual chapter, another of exposition of methodological processes and results and, finally, the approach of reaches and conclusions
