We analyzed 612 dogs between 1-10 years to determinate calculus and periodontal disease in the dogs of Cuenca Ecuador. We also performed a physical examination to “estomagtonático” system to say if dogs have accumulation plaque; the intensity of coloring was used to evaluate the thickness of the plaque like- (soft, medium or heavy), some dog´s patients were sedated. Therefore we conclude that the brachycephalic dogs have higher levels of disease with 89,00% cases of illness, the frequency of the disease is higher in old animals presenting 90,91%, and there is an association between canines who eat pellets presenting 80,65 % cases of illness. According to calculus variable dolichocephalic dog’s presents 38,86% cases, older dogs have 49,09% and animals that eat mixed food have 34, 80%. When performing a comparative analysis between periodontal disease and the two variables (age and anatomical structure), there is statistical correlation but correlation was not found between the anatomical structure and the type of food, which means that diet doesn’t influence over the disease but the type of skull and age influence, so concluding that the disease is more severe in old dogs.
