In recent years, various training methods for the development of strength and muscular hypertrophy have predominated due to the benefits they present for people, for the reason a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of two training methods for the development of strength was carried, out and muscle hypertrophy. Therefore, the objective of this research is to identify and compare the results of the development of strength and muscular hypertrophy of the training of the traditional method (German) that consists of working with 60% - 85% of 1 RM and the occlusion method (kaatsu) that works with 20% of 1 RM. This research is exploratory based on a nonexperimental documentary review in which the collection, analysis and comparison of information is evidenced. Among the main methods, techniques and instruments the synthetic analytical, deductive, logical historical and documentary review were used. The information search was, carried out including scientific articles, books, theses, and digital databases. The Mendeley software hosted documents published in the last 20 years in Portuguese, English and Spanish languages. As a result, this research showed that strength, and muscle hypotrophy can be developed with the two training methods without much difference between them. However, The German method should be, used by elite athletes, while the occlusion method by people who are not athletes or who start strength training and muscle hypertrophy
