Learning mathematics not only focuses on young people memorizing rules and steps to be followed in order to solve a problem, but on developing their logical and deductive reasoning skills to solve everyday situations in which they can apply mathematics. Keeping in mind this consideration, the present study titled “Teaching Tools and Resources for the Learning of Trigonometric Ratios" is aimed at developing a teaching guide that supports the process of building knowledge of tenth graders of Basic General Education in the Planning Unit called Trigonometric Ratios from the Geometry and Measurement block. One of the drawbacks that was observed is that learners get bored easily or prefer to carry out another type of activity while the educator teaches, which leads them to rote learning when adopting that attitude. The information students receive is only stored for a certain period of time showing little or no interest in analyzing or reasoning concepts; in addition to this, there is a lack of tools and didactic resources that can be applied in the learning of trigonometric ratios. Based on these considerations and with the purpose of understanding in a better way the learners’ needs, a research method was applied to collect statistic data, and the one that was the most suitable for the present study was the survey, which was applied on students from the first year of Baccalaureate at Ciudad de Cuenca High School. After analyzing the results, it was concluded that students like the idea that teaching tools and resources are present in their academic performance. These are reflected in the teaching guide, which consists of 8 trigonometry classes, with creative and different activities to improve their participation in the classroom. It is important to emphasize that each one has flexible planning and, if necessary, can be modified.
