dc.description.abstractCurrently the subject of depression in adolescence has become the focus of much research due to the large negative impact this has on different contexts such as personal, social and educational, it is for this reason that the present investigation cutting quantitative and qualitative, descriptive exploratory scope which are intended to describe the most common manifestations of depression, whether or not these affect the academic performance of adolescents and what is the genre in which depressive manifestations are more prevalent. The data collection instruments jurisdiction Scale Hamilton, survey and semi-structured interview. The studied population consisted of 132 students, men and women of the School of Industrial Technical “Ricaurte" of the City of Cuenca.
