dc.description.abstractThe present thesis, entitled “Dialogue as a contribution to a critical pedagogical practice”, was done in order to complete the General Basic Education degree in the University of Cuenca. The thesis is located within the field of pedagogy. It covers two categories of fundamental importance for bettering education: dialogue and critical pedagogical practice. The intention is to demonstrate that dialogue favors the development of a critical pedagogical practice. To support this, various bibliographic sources have been investigated and analyzed. The thesis is organized into three chapters. The first chapter discusses the definition of dialogue in the educational context, the conditions necessary in order to establish it, and the indissoluble relationship it has with ethics. The second chapter emphasizes what critical pedagogical practice looks like. Finally, after analyzing the two categories that make up the thesis, the importance of dialogue for the development of a critical pedagogical practice will be established. In conclusion, dialogue in the educational context is essential to improving the educational processes that have usually focused on instructing people academically. Thus, dialogue is the driving force of a critical pedagogical practice that seeks to train the educational actors in a complete and holistic way in order to promote social transformation.
