Design-build interface improve tool applying Kaizen method in Loja city. A design-build interface improvement tool based on the Kaizen method was proposed to reduce design defects and optimize cons- truction resources in Loja, Ecuador. The research took a quantitative approach, using data collection through surveys and case studies to test the hypothesis, based on numerical measurement. The research was experimental, was identified the independent variable improving the design-build interface and analyzed the consequences of the dependent variables design defects and resources on construction. The survey determined the level of application of the design and construction stages. In the case studies we evaluated the design-build interface, determined design defects and esta- blished improvement parameters. For the development of the tool the Kaizen method, Pareto principle and efficiency indicators were applied. In both the survey and in the case studies measurements were made through Likert scaling. The design-construction interface comprises the stages: executive project and 3D modeling, in which a higher incidence of design defects was detected. To solve them, check sheets were created as a tool that allowed continuous improvement. The implementation of the proposed tool had several benefits for the designers and constructors since it contributed to avoid the production of waste and rework, both in the design office and in the work. The acceptance of the hypothesis was evidenced with the tool of improvement of the interface design-construction since it allowed to reduce defects of design and to optimize resources in the construction.
