Traditionally, public spaces have been planned, designed and implemented based on a male hegemonic model. This has caused populations to be considered homogenous, excluding women from these spaces, by not considering their differentiated needs. The present work carries out a feminist geography analysis and an urban gender approach to the use and differentiated access to the Mother of Cuenca Park In this study it will be evident, based on bibliographic research and different methods applied, the need to include women in the planning, design and construction of public spaces. The thesis ends with specific recommendations to assure gender equity in public parks in Cuenca.
