The present degree work has been made in order to analyze the current interpretation of the esthetical body in teenagers and young adults in the University of Cuenca. Today, the thought that our body is the center of attention and a sort of presentation card to others, is created by society and spread across social media, to try and sell their products. This makes the youngsters want to imitate models in the advertisements who, are made to have perfect faces and bodies. Our essay has 3 different chapters: Chapter 1 is where we will talk about social media and its influence in the interpretation of corporal esthetics. This will be a bibliography review. In chapter 2, we will analyze the most common stereotypes of corporal esthetics within students of the University, for which we will apply a survey to the students in different faculties such as: medicine, art and philosophy. Finally on chapter 3, we will examine the consequences of the current beauty standards that give way to the interpretation of corporal esthetics, as set by the young adults in the University. For this chapter we have developed focus groups in the previously mentioned faculties.
