dc.description.abstractBackground: several studies indicate that parents play an essential role in the cognitive, socio-emotional, psychomotor and language development of their children, because the father is seen as the socializing agent, as the example to be followed by his parents. children, but with the passage of time that has taken a new direction since today the family has taken a great turn on education in children, as parents assume responsibilities of equitable parenting. (1) Objective: to identify the styles of correction of the parents against the behavior of the preschool child Buen Vivir Child Development Center "Los Pitufos". Parish The Valley. Cuenca, 2018. Methodology: the present study is of a quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional type. We worked with a finite universe that corresponds to the parents of 130 children who attend the CIBV "Los Pitufos", from the parish of El Valle. The study technique was the completion of a survey. The instrument that was used is the "Functional Questionnaire of Parent Educational Styles (FEEP)" of Gómez y García - Barranco, the data were analyzed through Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS 22.0 programs. Results: the 130 parents surveyed of the CIBV "LOS PITUFOS" in front of a bad behavior of the preschool, the majority is to say 100% 46.9% of parents choose to deprive them of something they like, 100% 43.1% indicate that they scold them, and in a lower percentage of 100% we have a 30.8% that says to hit your son / daughter with a slap or whip. While when the child throws a tantrum, 72.3%, 49.2% indicate that they usually scream at him and 39.2% choose to give up so that the child stops crying. Conclusions: parents have a rigid way of correcting their children and very few are flexible in the face of preschool attitudes
