The present work, Nationalism through the musical language of the Ecuadorian composer Leonardo Cardenas. Stylistic and compositional analysis of Suite Nº 1, deals with the stylistic and compositional study of four composite movements, which are composed with Ecuadorian music rhythms: danzante, sanjuanito, aire tipico and bomba. In this respect, the analysis of the musical elements that compose the work is delimited, which are: melodic, rhythmic, harmonic and morphological. The study of this work deals with the analysis of pre - Hispanic, Hispanic and Ecuadorian national music, where the main musical characteristics are pointed out, which as guidelines are used to understand the processes of acculturation and cultural recombination. In addition, the results of the above analysis are used to compare and determine musical nationalism in the work of Leonardo Cardenas.
