dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this work is the systematization of traditional knowledge about the execution of diatonic harp in Ecuador for its application in Music Education, in the field of the Institutions that use the syllabus of Artistic Baccalaureate such as Music Conservatories and Art & Music Schools, which are guided by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador. This work shows a clear vision of the origins of diatonic harp worldwide and its arrival in Ecuador since Spanish conquest and colony times, as well as its development in a native and mestizo cultural context, besides contributing with the information of remarkable artists, some still in the spotlight.
