dc.description.abstractBackground: Dating violence affects millions of people, especially women and vulnerable populations such as adolescents. Its harmful repercussions range from personal, family and social spheres, with consequences for the deterioration of health and social relations. Course objective: determine the frequency and characteristics of dating violence during dating through electronic media in adolescents of the San Joaquin Education Unit, 2019. Methodology: observational, quantitative and cross-sectional study. 252 adolescents from the San Joaquin Educational Unit participated, which met the inclusion criteria. Through the SPSS 15 program, a descriptive analysis was performed, results presented in tables with frequencies and percentages. All necessary bioethical procedures were applied. Results: the average age was 16.6 years, the most frequent age 17 years, 58.73% were men, 71% reside in rural areas; 48% have low socio-economic status; 47% of adolescents who have or had a dating relationship in the last year claimed to have suffered violence; control, intrusive monitoring and cyber surveillance 87,4 %, sexual aggression 24,1% were more frequent, violence was found in: 16 and 17 years (32,2 % respectively), men 59,8%, mestizos 88,5 %, rural residence 70,1%, low socioeconomic level 65,5 %, moderately functional family 57,5%. Conclusions: almost half of adolescents said they suffered violence, the most frequent type of violence was control, monitoring and cyber surveillance. The results obtained are consistent with those obtained by the bibliography.
