METHODS: We conducted a cross study. Area of study: Manuela Garaicoa de Calderón high school. Universe: 1703 students. Sample: 440 students were obtained by Epi Info 7 program, with a confidence interval of 95%, an expected frequency more 3%, confidence limit 5%, design effects 1%. The selection of the sample was obtained from Epidat 3.1 program by simple random sampling. To obtain the data was applied a survey based on the DSM V and associated factors. The tabulation of the data was performed using SPSS version 15.0. For the analysis were used frequencies, percentages, prevalence ratio, confidence index 95% and p Value to determine statistical association. Tables were developed according to the objectives using the Microsoft Excel 2010 program.
RESULTS: Based on DSM V, the prevalence of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder was 8.41%. Of the associated factors studied found that heredity was a risk factor with an RP: 4.76 p Value: 0.02, which was valued subjectively.
