dc.description.abstract | Cuenca is a really charming city: for the ones who were born in here and the
ones who didn’t. Something very special about this town are the places and
the stories that it hides, as you may say; the oral tradition. Oral tradition helps
to preserve a space, a culture and, at the same time, to know their myths and
fantastic narratives. However, there is a giant problem with oral tradition. As
they are stories of a particular place and because they have being transmitted
from one individual to another, information mutates, adding new parts or
even eliminating others. When it is altered, it becomes information difficult
to access, understanding becomes complicated for the public, resulting in the
halting of dissemination. The use of digital media can help that these stories,
along with the “cuencano” spaces, to be rescued and not lost in the contemporary.
The purpose of this thesis project is to transform those stories, which
are part of the oral tradition, into a more user friendly view and, therefore, the
diffusion of these it`s better in comparison to those stories which have been
disappearing over the years. Aimed at a local audience, eager to discover stories,
it has happened or been created within its own city. It seeks to promote
the dissemination of this knowledge through social networks, a mechanism
that bases its management on the posting of images almost in their entirety. In
this project, you can find information about culture, spaces, tourism, oral tradition,
illustration and animation, as well as the concepts necessary to understand
the information acquired accurately. | |
