The purpose of this case study is to analyze the discourses of citizen journalism in the news generated from the Facebook page "Periodismo Ciudadano EC" and thus determine if the contents conform to the theoretical references of the same and the impact they generate on the audience, while establishing a current state of citizen journalism in our social and communicative context, starting from the theoretical bases of citizen journalism taking the thought of Dan Gillmor, considered by various authors as the father of citizen journalism; the thought of Oscar Espiritusanto, one of the greatest defenders of citizen journalism; and both the thoughts of Pedro Paniagua and Guiomar Salvat, along with various authors, give a more objective look at this new journalism. Subsequently, a study and analysis of the page "Periodismo Ciudadano EC" will be carried out, covering both the construction of its agenda and the news discourse as well as the audiovisual and still image discourse. Finally, the audience of "Periodismo Ciudadano EC" is analyzed and the impact of the contents in it, as well as their role both in the construction of the information and in the reception of it, analyzing the credibility and activity of these users in social media.
