dc.description.abstractThe purposeof thisproject is to developthe themeStudy of thecoefficients for reducingstructural responseR from Ecuadorian Building Standard, aimed at improvingthe level of understandingand properadoption ofthis importantfactorby whichthe inelasticspectrum isobtained from theelastic spectrum, in order tonotoverestimateorunderestimatethe seismic action. Tothis enda review ofthe state of the artwas made, the components formingthe reduction factorRanalyzed,and howthisfactor is present inthe current Ecuadorian Building Standard andto the previous codes. Finally, theColombianStandardNSR-10 construction and the building codeof the United Statesof AmericaASCE7-10analyzed,making a comparisonto the Ecuadorian legislation, drawing conclusionsand makingrecommendations forfuture research.
