The purpose of the research was to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of Crinum x amabile extracts, the vegetal matter was collected in Muisne County belong to Esmeraldas Province, the conditions was carried out in the laboratories of Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo. A phytochemical screening of the plant bulbs was carried out. For the development of the test, it was necessary to elaborate a methanolic extract through maceration and ultrasonic bath and other in which the fraction of alkaloids was purified with the use of organic solvents and change the pH; these were dried with a rotatory evaporator at 40°C. The fraction of alkaloids was analyzed through gas chromatography coupled to mass spectroscopy (CG-EM) to obtain the alkaloids profile. The test of antimicrobial activity was carried out with the micro drop and disc diffusion method, using the extracts solved in a Dimethyl Sulfoxide solution (DMSO) at 10% as well as distilled water for Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomona aeruginosa, and Candida albicans microorganisms. This activity was compared with antibiotics discs of gentamicin (10 ug), ampicillin (10 ug), and fluconazole (commercial anti-fungical agent) (2 mg/ml), and as negative controls were distilled water and the DMSO solution at 10 %. With the CG-EM, it was possible to obtain lycorine with higher abundase of 44% as the principal alkaloid, followed by the assoanine with halos were obtained in the gross extract of alkaloids in the concentrations analyzed of 700 ug for K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa and S. typhi, a minimal diameter for E.coli and C. albicans also observed. The micro drops method did not reflect good results due to low concentrations used.
