Abstract

The objective of this study was to design a strategic plan for the Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito "El Sagrario" Ltda. Riobamba, term 2021-2025, to ensure the fulfillment of the objectives and timely decision making in the institution. The planning was developed based on documentary and field research, surveys were conducted both with users and administrative and operational personnel, and some parameters were identified that have not been taken into account in the strategic planning document, which is why the goals and objectives set by the institution have not been achieved. An internal and external analysis of the risks affecting the institution was also carried out using the SWOT matrix, and an interview was conducted with the CEO, who stated that the strategic plan is outdated and has not been applied by the administrative staff. This research work supports the need to provide a management tool for the administrative solution and contribute to the development of the Cooperativa El Sagrario, in order to promote the internal and external improvement of the main areas of the entity. It is recommended to develop and promote within the organization a planning culture, as well as to constantly evaluate the administrative management
