This study objective is to investigate the potential applications of chachafruit (Erythrina edulis) through a literature review, to know the physiological and morphological parameters, the chemical composition of the seed, leaf, and chachafruit meal in animal feed. A descriptive scope was carried out through a bibliographic review with its respective analysis, through a search supported by theses, scientific articles, web pages, and information from at least 4 bibliographic sources was compared. In the analysis of the chemical composition, the following data expressed in percentages were obtained, and a general average of the seed, leaf, and flour was taken, of which the results obtained were: 80. 51%, 81.58% and 7.21% moisture, 22.66%, 26.79% and 18.89% protein, 0.81%, 2.08% and 1.26% fat, 6.06%, 9.41% and 4.25% ash, 6.37%, 27.53% and 2.56% crude fiber and 58.04%, 30.51% and 47.71% carbohydrates. These results allowed formulations in the diet of guinea pigs and rabbits with 1% to 2%; in fattening poultry with 15% substitution for weight gain and better feed conversion with chachafruit meal. It can also be used as feed for sheep, cattle, and goats due to its high protein content (dry matter content 25.6% and total protein 24.85%). It is recommended to train farmers on this crop to improve and expand its production, in addition to conducting further research to eliminate anti-nutritional factors and administering diets to more animal species to observe their productive behavior.
