Análisis, evaluación y propuesta de mejoramiento de la movilidad de la zona rural del cantón Guamote como parte del Plan de Movilidad Rural de la provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

The purpose of this degree work was the analysis, evaluation and proposal for the improvement of the mobility of the rural parishes of the Guamote canton. It started by identifying the main problems faced by the inhabitants on the issue of mobility every day, such as a poor state of road infrastructure and precarious transport service that does not meet the needs of the population. In the execution of the fieldwork, it was necessary to use tools to collect information such as Origin-Destination surveys, through which to obtain socio-economic information and transport trends. Besides, observation sheets were used both for the survey of the state of road infrastructure and for the vehicle capacity, through which the diagnosis of the current situation could be determined, resulting in apparent problems on the roads with rolling layers that do not meet with the minimum conditions for the safe movement of road users, added to the fact that there is no signage. In the same way, transport supply does not meet the expectations of the population, which has to take alternative means to get around, such as In use of trucks. Therefore, some options to improve mobility are the prompt intervention in the rolling layer, placement of signage and the implementation of the mixed freight transport service is suggested, which is in line with the needs of the inhabitants of the communities of the rural parishes of the canton. These measures pretend to guarantee the constitutional right of free mobility and thus improve the quality of life of the population.
