dc.description.abstract | This technical project aimed to design and simulate a washing machine for tubers produced in the country's central zone, It focused on an acquisitive market of small and medium-sized producers seeking to industrialize their processes and have a higher profit margin by offering clean products. Several bibliographic references from various authors were compiled. Additionally, machinery already built was analyzed, and with this, the fundamental design parameters were established, and the characteristic of workload capacity of 67.5 Kg was taken. In addition to this, the technical specifications allowed configuring the prototype dimensions together with the recommendations of the UNE S30400 standard for food-grade machines. The method of analysis of alternatives and house of quality was used. It provided a weighting for the selection of options so that the standards of the voice of the user and the voice of the engineer can be met. An optimal mechanism for power transmission by flat belts was determined, with the application of a geared motor as the main driving element with a power of 1/4 HP. The structure or bed of the machine was designed based on the average height in our country. The mechanical components such as pulleys, structural profile, sheet metal, and prototype hoppers were calculated, designed, and selected theoretically and verified by modeling in Solid Works software together with their respective simulation to verify both proper operations and guarantee a safety factor of the bench within an acceptable range for your construction. It is concluded that the prototype washing machine for tubers produced in the central area is valid, obtaining a device that meets the washing needs of this type of product. | |
