dc.description.abstract | The aim of this degree work was to determine synoptic models to determine the wind speed in the province of Chimborazo, using the data series recorded at the stations of the Alternative Energies and Environment Group (GEAA) ESPOCH for the year 2021. In addition, the synoptic model that was adjusted to the behaviour of wind speed in the province of Chimborazo was determined. Maps were generated, analysed, developed, imputed and adjusted in ArcGIS with the database of the GEAA stations and data from the model used. The adjustment of the synoptic models was done by making a database of recorded wind speed data at specific points and including five GEAA stations located in the province. Two synoptic models were studied and chosen for their spatial resolution, which was adjusted to the recorded series. Once the model was determined, the contours were adjusted in ArcGIS using the Kriging - Ordinary and IDW interpolation methods, generating maps with predictive capacity. For the statistical analysis, the wind speed cross-validation technique was used, giving an error of 4%, which is within the acceptable range and gives the validity of the model used. It was concluded that the Power Data Accses Viewer model chosen is adapted to the conditions of the province of Chimborazo. It is recommended to continue with the research and study of global models that adjust to the conditions of the province as well as to carry out studies with projections at higher altitudes. | |
